Studio Rubedo LLC

In January, 2018, Studio Rubedo LLC, an independent, artist-run space, was officially launched by creative entrepreneur and multi-disciplinary artist Brian Schorn. A physical location was established in July, 2018 on the outskirts of the downtown district of Alpena, MI. One year later, it was relocated closer to the downtown district at 213 West Chisholm Street near the intersection of Third Avenue.

Studio Rubedo is currently in the process of completing renovations its new location. This location has much higher foot traffic and is centrally situated among other art galleries, restaurants, bars, and shops. Studio Rubedo will now include two art gallery spaces (Sun & Moon Galleries), a larger artist workshop with greater public exposure, a sanctuary for meditation instruction, educational art and writing workshops, artist presentations and performance art, art chats/critiques, poetry readings, and music performances, plus a retail section with exclusive items designed by Brian Schorn as well as other specialty items including meditation and yoga supplies.

The Moon Gallery within Studio Rubedo is now open for preview. It will showcase solo exhibitions of local artists. Artists may submit their exhibition proposal for consideration through the online application (available shortly). The Sun Gallery is currently being renovated , but will be exhibiting local, regional, and national artist.Upcoming shows include artists from NYC, Washington DC, Traverse City, and Alpena.
